La Joconde’s first rate service begins with a cake tasting and consultation at the studio, where clients try delicious samples and discuss wedding cake ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. Jutta creates a colored hand drawn sketch of each cake, works with each client’s budget, and gives an exact quote. Coordination with wedding planners, caterers and florists guarantees a professional and stress free experience.
We accept a limited number of clients to guarantee full dedication and maximum quality work. Please secure your date early by scheduling an appointment at least three to six months before your event. Jutta is available for appointments weekdays during regular business hours, some evenings and Saturdays.
La Joconde delivers to the Portland Metropolitan area, Hood River and the Columbia Gorge, wine country and other locations within about 75 miles from the city.

Pastry chef Jutta Bach created La Joconde in 2006.
Joconde is a patterned ribbon sponge cake named for the Mona Lisa – which is called La Joconde by the French – and it is one of her favorite design elements.
Jutta graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking Program at Western Culinary Institute in Portland Oregon. She also received formal training in architecture and design in Germany, and this perfect combination of skills is resulting in what many Oregon wedding planners consider the best and most creative cake designs in Portland.
Jutta’s German background, her love for French cuisine, and her appreciation for the beauty and bounty of the Pacific Northwest find unique expression in her cake flavors and style.
