La Joconde is offering a delicious mix of classic and modern European style cakes.

Pastry chef Jutta Bach likes to add a Northwest taste, favoring Oregon hazelnuts, fresh berries, pears and apples in her creations. Her layered white cake, filled with lemon mousse and lavender scented pears has become a favorite at weddings in and around Hood River and the Gorge.

All cakes are hand made from scratch, using high quality ingredients – and absolutely no shortening, preservatives or substitutes. We use Swiss butter cream, a fluffy melt-in-your-mouth frosting made from European style butter and meringue. And we prefer locally grown seasonal and fresh fruit for our fillings.
